Kelly & Andrew, Engaged
Posted by Aaron - 13/08/10 at 09:08:03 pmThis was fun. Mega-fun. And it wasn’t even their wedding yet. Not often a couple is willing to lift the Fremont Bridge for you (which deserved an “encore”).

Katie & Luke, Engaged
Posted by Aaron - 13/08/10 at 12:08:51 amThese two cats, er dogs, er…I mean Katie & Luke…who brought their dogs Eli and Junebug….who probably are fine with cats but I don’t know…well, we met up at a couple spots for photos. Also, 150 points to Katie & Luke for braving the mosquito family reunion that happened out at Sandy River Delta. It was ridiculous but they still smiled and looked cute. 50 points goes to Ashley Forrette for being my shooting partner.

365 Project, Year 2 Complete
Posted by Aaron - 11/08/10 at 01:08:01 amThis is my professional blog. It’s no secret, though, that I take a lot of pictures. For two years in a row now I have been using my personal photography to inform and strengthen my professional photography. They are not separate. As I have looked back through year two of this picture-a-day project, I’m noticing how my personal compositions, creativity, trials and errors have all taught me how to be a better photographer. And the days where I would rather shoot my toe than take a picture, those are the days where I need to open my eyes and create something.
Since my professional career is just getting busier (and more fun!), my 365 project most likely won’t continue in this form. But around the corner is more film, more phone, and more ways to push me to be a better photographer. Thanks for encouraging me along the way. View more on my Flickr stream.

Michelle & Rich, Wedding (Tualatin, OR)
Posted by Aaron - 10/08/10 at 10:08:14 pmTheir reception was at a Union Hall. I’m pretty sure there is a joke about Union dues somewhere? Congrats to Michelle & Rich!

Courtney & Kirk, Day-After Session (Lincoln City, OR)
Posted by Aaron - 04/08/10 at 11:08:17 pmI heart the beach and I heart Courtney & Kirk. A day later, they left for St Louis. St Louis does not have beaches like this.

Courtney & Kirk, Wedding (Vancouver, WA)
Posted by Aaron - 04/08/10 at 10:08:46 pmCourtney & Kirk decided to sail off into the moonlight instead of the sunset. And that was just fine.
This wedding was shot for Ashley Forrette.

Kristin & Jonathan, Anniversary (Ecola State Park)
Posted by Aaron - 04/08/10 at 12:08:42 amAshley and I met Kristin & Jonathan at a darkening Ecola State Park. But it was the perfect mood for these kids.

Diana & Ben, Engaged (Linnton, OR)
Posted by Aaron - 03/08/10 at 09:08:38 pmLinnton, Oregon is such a weird place. It’s like the Lost World of Portland. But we didn’t care, we made some pictures. And laughs.

Delicious Film Goodness
Posted by Aaron - 02/08/10 at 02:08:50 pmI’m slow with film. I suppose that’s the way it’s supposed to be, but I was especially excited about these rolls, 1 Fuji Pro400H and 2 Fuji Neopan400 rolls which I had developed at Richard Photo Lab. So, so, so happy with the results. For you film geeks, I overexposed the B&W a stop and the color a stop and a half. Shot with a Nikon F5 and a Nikon FE.
Here are a few from recent client shoots and family trips.

Ali & Evan, Anniversary
Posted by Aaron - 29/07/10 at 07:07:33 pmWhat else do the couple who had the best lil’ restaurant ever and makes the best biscuits & gravy do? Horseshoes, gardening, and looking completely amazing. That’s what. Ashley and I had a healthy dose of delicious fun.
