Adrienne & Lauren, Portraits

Adrienne & Lauren are roommates at University of Portland. They annoy each other sometimes. But usually they are really close friends. And I was not about to say “NO!” to some fun, end-of-school portrait sessions with them at the beach.

Congrats to our awesome babysitter Adrienne on graduating! And both of you are awesome.

The Eide Kids

Oh, these kids… They are the kind of kids that I would love to take along with me to every photoshoot. Cause they make me smile. A lot. I don’t know where they sell them, but you should get some. Cheli and Lili are amazing and my neighbors and their parents are our dear friends.

Rayleigh & Nate, Engaged

I have known Rayleigh since my college days at Western Oregon University (turn of the century). What I remember about her was that she may be the sweetest, kindest person ever in the existence of the world. It all came back when she and her fiance met up with me for their engagement photos. And all the sweet and nice people I have met since college were IMMEDIATELY dethroned for their niceness.

We had a great time catching up, taking pictures, and braving the rain. And they are getting married in a couple weeks!

Congrats to you two! What an amazing couple you make.

Electric Photographers

This is what happened:

Friends got together with lights and cameras. Tried things out. Tried to learn stuff. Watched the sunset while we kept trying things out. Threw flour at each other. All of our lighting equipment buzzed under the power lines and it felt dangerous. Thanks to Bryan, Ashley, Ryan & his dog for being gracious and weird.

You are now required to visit the Flour shots.

A Pancake Studios post will follow with live motion on-the-scene breaking news video footage.

Lauren & Tripp, Engaged

Hawthorne is hip. So are these two lovebirds. And so the story goes and then comes the wedding this summer. And I’m taking pictures the whole time.

Lauren & Tripp, you two were awesome to work with and I’m so excited for your wedding date! It’s going to rock.

Shot with Ashley Forrette, because she also knows what’s going on. Also, side note, if we took pictures in front of your house in the Hawthorne area, sorry but it was just too cool to pass up.

Carrie & John, Engaged

I had to go ALL the way across the river for Carrie & John’s engagement shoot. And it was worth it. Despite their mad Huskies vs Cougars rivalry, Carrie & John put their differences aside and totally had a good time and made some gorgeous pictures with us. I’m so excited for their wedding in Vancouver at the Pearson Air Museum!

Big thanks to Ashley Forrette for shooting with me, without whom many beautiful pictures & my cheesy jokes would not be possible.

Kristine & Paul, Engaged

I just love when clients are willing to come to North Portland to shoot with us. There is SO much interesting stuff here: textures, bridges, undeveloped areas, migratory birds. But when a couple comes along as ridiculous as Kristine & Paul with the hair and the height and the smiley goodness, everything else just gets overwhelmed and let’s them be the star of the show. And that is fine with me.

Thanks to Ashley Forrette for letting me be her shootin’ pardner again.

My Daughter, Holly

I am blogging my daughter. That is all.

Marcy & Aaron, Engaged *The Pancake Studios*

For The Pancake Studios. Marcy & Aaron are my favorite. Just one example why: When I said something cheesy as is customary for my photographic style, Aaron didn’t let me get away with it. He dished it back. I like that. They are so funny together and Ashley and I loved being around them. Can’t wait for their wedding and Day-After session. Head over to the Pancake blog for more.

Mark & Liz, Engaged

I met Mark & Liz near the Park Blocks on a very-questionably-weather-day. Portland has had a lot of them lately. However, on this particular morning, the heat generated from Mark & Liz’s smokin’-hotness just so happened to keep the rain away. It was science.

On a side note, I will also say that Mark & Liz have the kind of chemistry that shows up in movies and magazines but is so real it gives you chills to be around it. Can’t wait for their wedding and reception.

Thanks so much Mark & Liz!!!
