Good News
Posted by Aaron - 28/04/09 at 09:04:00 pmGood news for Aaron C Photography!
Couple weddings on schedule for this summer (and awesome couples too!) Also on the books is an event in May and a few more family portrait sessions coming up.
I’ll keep you all (or you, dear sole reader) in the loop. Thanks for your support and encouragement. Spread the word. There’s a new camera dog in Portland and he’s barking. But not too loud because this dog cares about the nice old neighbors.
Peace, Aaron
The Eide Kids
Posted by Aaron - 21/04/09 at 09:04:00 amAren’t they adorable? They were so fun to photograph. I set up the white seamless and flash system and just took my time trying some different shots and poses. Which is pretty much impossible with a one-year old.
Thanks so much to Kate & Matt for letting me photograph your beautiful kids! I hope you enjoy.

Twiggy
Posted by Aaron - 16/04/09 at 08:04:00 pmFor both of you who check my blog and Flickr stream regularly, time to get used to me posting new spring growth photos from around my house. I can’t help it.
I’m sure I’ll be throwing in new portraits and projects, but you are stuck with Spring photos so GET OVER IT!
And I appreciate you, my loyal blog reader (I just lost the other blog reader due to my insistence of posting Spring photos).
Day 300 – Jedi Explorer
Posted by Aaron - 13/04/09 at 10:04:00 pmToday was day 300. I’m really glad I’ve done the 365 project for myself and it definitely has helped me improve. But it’s tiring and come Day 366, I will probably not be posting a photo. Well…..maybe I will.

Experiments with Sun Flare
Posted by Aaron - 11/04/09 at 08:04:00 amEach of my lenses reacts differently to sun flare (what happens when you point the camera at the sun and let the light dance around in your lens glass). Yesterday I was experimenting with my 50 1.8 lens with at a very shallow depth of field. I liked what happened and this is definitely a skill I’d like to master.
Developing these shots is another challenge because usually the colors would come out a bit cool so I had to change the coloration after the fact. I wanted a nice soft sunset yellow/red and tried using a number of different processing methods to get there.
Bottom line: I think my wife is pretty.
Bird’s Eye View

End of the Blossom
Posted by Aaron - 07/04/09 at 05:04:00 pmTook a quite moment away from work for some photographs of the cherry trees on the waterfront.
There were a lot of people enjoying the last few bits of sunshine but even with such beautiful trees, it was kind of challenging to come up with some interesting compositions. Hope you enjoy. As a side note, I like this composition, but I did it to cover up a sunbather with clashing colors….
