If Not Now, When?

Day 250 – If Not Now, When?, originally uploaded by Aaron Courter.

This sign haunts me every day. And every day becomes the next, and the next, and the next….

On the Edge at Smith Rock

On the Edge, originally uploaded by Aaron Courter.

Took a trip down to Bend to see good friends. Ended up going on a hike at Smith Rock. I had never been there but I could come back and spend sunrise to sundown.

It’s like a training in photographic composition. The muted mid-day colors were very challenging and I know this place explodes at sunrise or sundown.

*A side note, going on a hike with a photographer has got to be the most annoying thing ever. My friends were patient but stop and go just doesn’t get you to the destination.

Happy Valentine’s Day my lovely girls!

My Valentine’s Day gift to Kristen was a trip to the smart-pop geniuses of Bird & the Bee, playing at the Doug Fir Lounge.

Fun concert!

As a side note, I had my D90 up to ISO 3200. Grainy, yes, but nice to not have to use the flash.

A Happy Family

A Happy Family, originally uploaded by Aaron Courter.

Saturday morning I made some photos with the Mizee family, partly for Maria’s five-year old portraits and partly for some family shots. It was a lot of fun and they were great.

After some white seamless shots of the kids, we trotted down to Columbia Park which was eerily foggy which made for some interesting backdrops. The only downside was that it was VERY cold. Kids get warm being active but that can only last so long.

I like the above shot because it’s goofy. I’m getting used to this wide angle lens and love how it opens a lot of doors for creativity.

Thanks Mizees!!
