The Sanneman Family

These guys are the most ridiculously kind people I know. There is a great quantity of love in their family.

The Smith Family

Ashley and I went up to Seattle to see these two color-matched munchkins run around us and smile. It was well worth it.

Malia & Maggie

Cuteness x silly x just being little kids. Exponential equations can’t keep up.

Lil’ Taylor & Family

Makes me almost want to have another one. Almost.

I shot this family with my cameras and with Ashley Forrette, who also made amazing pictures.

The Yinger Family

The Yinger family is awesome. Mostly because I got to boss them around. But that’s not the only reason. Four generations all together is awesome X 4. But bossing is fun.

Thanks to wide-open Vancouver sunlight and the Yingers for being happy people!

The Eide Kids

Oh, these kids… They are the kind of kids that I would love to take along with me to every photoshoot. Cause they make me smile. A lot. I don’t know where they sell them, but you should get some. Cheli and Lili are amazing and my neighbors and their parents are our dear friends.

Winger Family, at Columbia Park

These kids are so great. Not only do they have a new baby sister, but they were kind, cooperative and fun. Thanks Alex, Elizabeth, Tyler, and Jaclyn!

Peterson Family Portraits

Another cold morning in Portland and another brave awesome family! They are moving out of the Mississippi neighborhood into University Park but they wanted to capture some of their old stompin grounds for this shoot. Aren’t their kids ridiculously adorable? Their oldest, Paige, was a little ham*ster.

Thanks Peterson Family for being all snuggly and fun! I hope we can do it again!

Rebanal Family Portraits

I love this family for a number of reasons. I was contacted by David since he was the recipient of my donated portrait package to the Emerson School and wanted some “very Portland” family photos. So I suggested one of my favorite unknown places, Willamette Cove, which is in walking distance from my house (yeah, I’m lazy) and they were totally up for it. Willamette Cove is undeveloped but beautiful land next to the river in between U of P and St Johns.

It was freezing cold, sunny and the light was brilliant. The girls were brave and adorable and their three month old son was so observant and calm (as much as three month olds can be!). Anyways, we walked all the way to the train bridge and a train thundered by. What more could you ask for, you know, aside from a little more warmth?

Thanks Rebanal family, you were so great to spend time with!

Our Family Portrait

So this year, I tried a couple different things for our christmas family portrait. I liked some more sunflare/outdoor shots but I wanted to try something close-up and warm. For those of you wondering how I did it, I lit up my family with a flash through an umbrella to their right on low power and then a backlight under the Christmas tree. And then the kids went back to playin’….

Here it is, hope you enjoy.
